Nanxun County

　　Approved by the State Council in January 2003, Nanxun was established as the area under Huzhou's jurisdiction.Nanxun has nine towns (Nanxun, Shuanglin, Lianshi, Linghu, Shanlian, Qianjin, Shicong) and one provincial level economic development zone(Nanxun Economic Development Zone).The total population of Nanxun is 0.514 million. Its area is 716 square kilometers.

　　Nanxun stands in the hinterland of the Yangtse Rive delta, the north of Zhejiang, the border of Zhejiang and the Jiangsu,abutting on Taihu and bordering on Wujiang.Its location superiority is distinctive.It is the forward position for Huzhou connecting with Shanghai.318 State Road and Huyan Road thread together it.Jinghang Cannel and Changhushen Channel go through it.It lies at the diagonal connecting point of rhomboid consisted of Shanghai,hangzhou,Suzhou,about 100 kilometers away from one another.

　　Located at the monsoon climate belt of north subtropical zone,it is of moderate climate,with annual average temperature of 16℃ , annual average sunlight of 2000 hours,annual average precipitation of 1170mm.

　　Nanxun is a vacationing zone of provincial level in Zhejiang,with rich humanistic travel resources.It has more than 1800 thousand tourists every year. Ancient town Nanxun applied to UNESCO for World Heritage status in 2001，and has been listed on the tentative list. Meanwhile Nanxun won the prize of 2003 UNESCO the Asia-Pacific Heritage Award for Culture Heritage Conservation.Silk worm Flower Day in Hanshan was ranked as “China Folk Art Tour”serialized activities. “The mulberry base and fish pond”in Linghu was reputed as the only traditional fish culture of ecological agriculture model which was kept in a good condition.In addition to being conferred the highest level of the national resource—Five levels standard.Moreover,Nanxun is the most concentric an integrated area to keep the classic bridges in the whole country.Nanxun,Shuanglin,Linghu and Shanlian which are subordinate to Nanxun district are all famous in the south of the Yangtse Rive of China,they formed rare classic town groups in the whole country.
