¡¡¡¡Huzhou's GDP in 2004 reached RMB 59.069 billion, 15.4% up than the last
year. CDP was RMB 22966 yuan, 15.3% higher over 2003. of which agriculture
covered RMB6481.16million, 8.2% up; second industry covered RMB 32368.68
million, 18.5% of growth. Tertiary industry covered RMB20219.42 million, with
an increase of 12.9% over 2003.

Industrial Sector
¡¡¡¡In 2004 the municipality achieved a total production value of 59.07 billion yuan, growing 15.4% than the previous year, and the proportions holding in the GDP for the primary, econdary and tertiary industry are 11:54.8:34.2 respectively. The industrial sector fulfilled an industrial addition value of 28.25 billion yuan, holding 47.8% in the GDP. The revenues from the industrial sector hold 81.67% in the state tax and 26.55% in the local tax, 57.4% in the total financial revenues. The local industrial input amounted 18.12 billion yuan, growing 37%. A domestic investment of 6.65 billion yuan and a foreign investment of 493 million US dollarswere realized in 2004. Huzhou was ranked at the top in the 11 item appraisals for industrial economic benefits in Zhejiang province.
Development of Tertiary Sector in Huzhou
¡¡¡¡In 2004 Huzhou municipality accomplished 20.2 billion yuan addition value in the tertiary sector, growing 12.9% than the previous year, of which the accomplished addition values in transportation and postal service sector, hotel and restaurant sector and other service sector are 3.1 billion yuan, 1.1 billion yuan and 6.38 billion yuan, and grew 12.3%, 15.5% and 20.2%, respectively. The social consuming product retailing amounts of 20.8 billion yuan was achieved in the full year of 2004, growing 14.2% than the previous year. The city welcomed 8,579,900 domestic tourists and 70,528 foreign tourists in 2004, growing 21.0% and 48.25%, with a total tourist income of 5.0 billion yuan. The sectors of finance and real estate accomplished addition values of 1.3 billion yuan and 2.4 billion yuan respectively, growing 8.6% and 3.5%. The E-commerce and information technology began to be widely applied in the city. The municipality has become a member of the market information coordination network for 16 cities in Yangtze river delta which creates an information platform for commercial and economic cooperation and exchange in Yangtze river delta. In 2004 the strategic program for the development of modern logistics sector in Huzhou municipality passed appraisal, by which Huzhou will gradually establish and perfect its logistics industry. In the full year of 2004 the municipality fulfilled an investment amount of 16.3 yuan, growing 35.9% and holding 44.6% in total investment of the socialfixed assets. |
