1、System Advantages

  Basically Huzhou has fulfilled its reform of the ownership and property rights system for the state owned and collective owned enterprises in the municipality, and fostered a series of corporative enterprises with diverse property rights structure, which has effectively driven the establishment of modern enterprise system. The privately owned economy started early in Huzhou and has been developing rapidly. The privately owned companies have grown at a rate of more than 15% in the successive years. And now, the privately owned economy has taken over 65% in the municipal economy. The sizes of privately owned companies keep the trend for growing rapidly, and a series of starred corporations with the size oriented, technology oriented, export oriented and brand oriented features, such as Jiuli, Jinzhou, Mizuda, Shenghua, Dehua, Tianneng, Shanying etc, have risen up.

2、Location Advantages

  Huzhou municipality is located at the northern part of Zhejiang province, neighboring Shanghai on the east and linking hangzhou on the south. On the north Huzhou confronts with the vast Taihu lake and neighbors Anhui on the west. It positions at the center of Yangtze river delta region consisting of Shanghai, hangzhou and Nanjing, and knows as the pivotal city in Yangtze river delta urban circle and a major city in Taihu lake ring economic circle and hangzhou bay industrial belt. Huzhou is also an important city opened to the outside world in Yangtze river delta and mutually benefits with the surrounding cities for its industry, resources and location conditions. With the completion of the expressway and highway construction projects, Huzhou will be within the reach of an hour drive to the cities of Shanghai, hangzhou, Suzhou, Wuxi and Jiaxing and two hour drive to the other cities in Yangtze river delta. The railway lines intersect in Huzhou city. All of these conditions enable Huzhou to be the most important inland transportation hub in northern Zhejiang province and the passage to the ocean in the west bank of Taihu lake and the southern Anhui. Huzhou situates at the nearest reach to Shanghai metropolitan circle and closely exchanges with Shanghai through its economy, technology, trade and talents.

3、Block Featured Industry

  Huzhou has built 41 block economies with regional features and comparative advantages in the province and even China.

  In Nanxun district:elevators, wood floors, electromagnet wires, driven chains, wool textiles, silk knitting, leather, electronics and miniature motors;
  In Wuxing district:children's apparels, printing and dying textiles, water treatment equipment, silk and aluminium;
  In Huzhou Economy and Technology Development Zone: specialized machinery, bio-pharmaceutical and electronic components;
  In Changxing county: cements, refractory materials, polyester textiles, electric furnaces for industrial purposes, batteries used in electric vehicles and electric power generation;
  In deqing county: bio-pharmaceutical, decorative textiles, coating equipment, pianos, electric lighting, apparels and silk;

4、Urban and Rural Development

  Huzhou has stipulated for the urban and rural development plan to implement the integration of the urban and rural areas. The environment in 243 administrative villages and 4,261 natural villages is improved through the rural renovation project. The training project has trained 95,000 farmers. 99.5% of the villages in Huzhou are accessible by the highway. The urbanization in the municipality has achieved 44.1%. The central city covers an area of 52.9 km2 with a total population of 515,000. Huzhou insists on the strategy that controls the pollution and improves the ecology, and newly builds more than 2.5 million m2 of green land in the city and towns. The forestation coverage rate has achieved 49%. In Huzhou, a movement to build eco-county, eco-district, eco-town and village is under the way.

5、Eco Environment

  Huzhou is a famous city with a history of more than 2,000 years in the south of Yangtze river and it is called the state of culture due to its profound cultural heritages. It is the place where the Chinese silk culture, tea culture and brush pen culture were born. The Tianmu mountains covered with green bamboos lies in the west of Huzhu while the Taihu lake, whose mists and waves stretch far into the distance, faces Huzhou city on the north. The water in the East and West Tianxi rivers and the canal water system flows through the territory of Huzhou. Huzhou has preserved so many natural and cultural attractions which have lured numerous visitors at home and abroad. The popular natural attractions are Anji bamboo sea, the source of Huangpu river, the cool world Mt. Mogan summer resort, Xiazhu lake wetland, the thousand years old gingko woods in Changxing, Yangtze crocodiles park, Changxing ancient geological park. The ancient town Nanxun where many renowned personalities were born reserves the genuine culture in the south of the lower reaches of Yangtze river.
The forest coverage rate in Huzhou achieves 48.3%. An ecological area of 2 million mu is preserved and 6 natural reserves are named. Huzhou is rich in water resources with the average water resources of 3.7 billion m3. Basically, the total water consumption of Huzhou keeps balance with the water supply. Huzhou is one of the three major freshwater fish producers in China, and abundant in bamboo, limestone, building stones, quartzites and silicate resources.

  Huzhou has been awarded the titles of the State Hygiene City, China Tourist City of Excellence, the State Model City for Supporting Army and Zhejiang Provincial Civilized City.

6、Humane Historical Sites

  Huzhou boasts a long history and an old culture. It has been founded for more than 2,300 years of history since Huangxie, the Monarch Chunsheng of the Chu State in Chinese history, built the lower Gu City. The ancient walls of the lower Gu City is a rare ruin of ancient city in China and still remain intact surprisingly. The ruins of Qianjin Town Pagoda are a large-sized ancient tribes ruins with the deep cultural deposits originated from Liangzhu culture, Maqiao culture and Majiabang culture, Songzhi culture and even later the printed pottery culture of Zhou Dynasty. Huzhou is one of the places where the world silk culture was born. The worm silk fabrics unearthed in Qianshan Lake that is located in the suburbs of Huzhou City has a history of over 4,700 years. In the Chinese history of literature and arts the fertile land of Huzhou fostered numerous eminent people like Wu Changshuo, YuPingbu, Meng Jiao, Zhao Mengfu, Lu Yu, who have profoundly influenced the Chinese and even world history of arts. These great people in the Chinese history and the silk culture, writing brush culture, tea culture and dietary culture have composed a unique, glamorous tourist resources of humanity and history.
