Industry: Building Material Project Background and Conditions: Changxing where is located at the meeting place of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui three provinces enjoys superior geographical advantage and easy access. The canal in the county links the Great Canal. The shale deposits in Meishan town are 360 million tons. As the state set legislation to prohibit the application of solid clay bricks, a new policy that encourage new type building materials has been come into effect. This will bring a broad market to the applications of shale porous bricks. Project Progress: The project takes the advantages of the local resources and government policy, and will invest USD 20 million. The project will use 100 mu land and introduce two production lines with the capacity of 80 million shale clay bricks. Co-operation Form: Foreign Wholly Owned or Joint Venture Status of Chinese Partner: Meishan Industrial Park is planned with an area of 4 km2, and now there is an area of 2.65 km2 that has put into reality with an accumulated investment amount of RMB 2,968 million. 67 enterprises have set their plants in the park and accomplished a total investment amount of RMB 2,867 million, of which there are 6 provincial high and new technology enterprises and 3 provincial groups, 20 major companies, 4 leading provincial enterprises and 5 joint ventures. The industrial park has built a transformer of 110 KVA and a power plant for its own purpose.
