Project Background and Conditions:
    Starting from 2000, the electric bicycles began to prevail in the China market and this year the sales will exceed 10 million. Because they are convenient, safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly, and their prices are moderate, the electric bicycles have been favored by many Chinese consumers. The electric bicycles have become one of the important transportations for the urban residents in China and their manufacturing industry is one of the big sector in the Chinese economy. In 2004 the output of electric bicycles is the landmark that the electric bicycle industry has been matured in the Chinese market. The remote controlled alarm locks will make the electric bicycles more comfortable, safer and more convenient. The locks combine the system of brake, locking and alarming into one device. Its excellent performances and moderate prices have been favored by most bicycle manufacturers and consumers.
Project Progress: The product has been applied for two state patents numbered DAND-90-KRAKE and DND-1000-KRAKE. Now the products have been equipped in the famed electric bicycle manufacturers such as Giant etc.
Plan of Implementation: The project will introduce capitals USD 5 million, build new workshop and purchase new equipment and expand the existing production to meet the increasing market demand for this product.
Status of Chinese Partner: Zhejiang Changxing Plastic Wires Co., Ltd is a major enterprise engaging in productions of wires and cables. The company has invested RMB 3 million in development of remote controlled alarm locks for electric bicycles and took about four years to develop the product.
