Project Background and Conditions:
Since the reform and open-up, Changxing County has undergone a tremendous economic growth. The GDP of the county economy becomes quite big and the specific trading markets with certain scales are emerging continuously. The county commerce is roaring. There are a lot of opportunities for the development of logistics. The implementation of the project will shape up a great development platform for ChangxingĄ¯s logistics sector and the huge potential for logistics industry will be developed in the near future.
Changxing County is located at the junction area of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui three provinces. The highway and expressway networks have been taken into shape, which is centered in Shanghai and within a two-hour communication circle to Shanghai, hangzhou, Nanjing and other major cities. The railway and water transportation are highly developed as well. The telecommunication in Changxing takes the leadership among the similar counties in China. The informationization and E-commerce are developing rapidly. All of these offer Changxing excellent conditions for implementation of the project.
Project Progress: The project has started its construction after passing the feasibility study, planning design and preliminary design. The construction period of the project is from 2004 to June 2006.
Plan of Implementation: The project construction will include logistics information network platform, logistics and trading facilities integrated with shipment for goods, storages, container pools, parking lots and other auxiliary facilities for living, power and water supplies, covering an area of 150 mu and with a total investment of RMB 60 million in the project planning.
Financial Evaluation: The earning rate for the investment in the project is 15%, with a payoff period of 5 years.
Co-operation Form: Joint Venture
Collaboration to Be Sought from Foreign Partner: In the total investment of RMB 60 million for this project, the Chinese counterpart will raise RMB 30 million by itself and the remaining is desired to be input from the foreign investor.
Status of Chinese Partner: Changxing United Logistics Co., Ltd. is a new enterprise engaged in modern logistics industry. The proposed project is an auxiliary one that serves Changxing Passengers and Freights Transportation Service Center with Public Parking Lots Project implemented by Changxing county. The company is established by merging of seven enterprises that are engaged in cashmere knitting, textile, storage and shipping and hotel service etc. Through years of trans-industrial development, now the company owns a fixed asset of RMB 200 million with an annual turnover of RMB 400 million.
