Project Background and Conditions:
    The project is, located at Zhao Village, Miaoxi Town of Huzhou, developed to serve the countryside travel and holiday spending, and it covers a total area of 8.3 km2. The landscape in the tourist zone combines the beauties of original ecology and the features of the mountainous countryside, where there are many natural and cultural sights such as the Southern Gate of Heaven, the Mausoleum of Number One Scholar, Plum Grove¡¯s Garden, Egrets¡¯ Stream etc. At this time there have been travelers visiting this place spontaneously, and some of the service items have been opened to serve the tourists. The business now is quite good.
Project Progress: Zhejiang University Institute of Landscape Design and Tourism Planning has been invited to plan the project. A road of 5 km long was built to link the provincial highway with the project site and the water and power supply, telecommunication and other infrastructure facilities have been completed as well.
Plan of Implementation: According to the documents of Overall Planning for Egrets Valley Countryside Tourism, the project plan will include the items as follows,
1.to rehabilitation the historic sites in the zone, build the roads and link them each other.
2.to build new pavilions, bridges and other structures and beautify the environment.
3.to develop new entertainment facilities for fishing, water-playing and outdoor bathing place.
4.to build a center for holiday spending and conference with comprehensive functions which can meet the demands of the market from different levels.
Financial Evaluation: The preliminary plan shows that the total budget for the project is RMB 80 million, not including the ecological project under planning. In principle, the annual income after the third phase of the project will achieve RMB 5 million.
Co-operation Form: Foreign Wholly Owned or Joint Venture
Collaboration to Be Sought from Foreign Partner: Wuxing District Miaoxi Town Government as the Chinese counterpart, will be responsible for the marketing and planning of the project, and coordinate with the relevant authorities on land and compensation for the farmers who own the land and other issues. The preferential policy and capital input from the investors will be fulfilled as well.
Preferential Conditions Contributed by Chinese Partner: The Chinese counterpart will deliver all information of the project and the local topography to the potential investors. Also the existing infrastructure facilities in the site will be delivered to the investors freely.
