Project Background and Conditions:
    Linghu town where the project is located is 24 km away from the southern suburb of Huzhou City, under jurisdiction of Nanxun District. It is a provincial level central town in the comprehensive reform test for the small cities made by Zhejiang Province, covering an area of 106 km2 with a total population of 80,000. Now the town has two water plants with a designed supply capacity of 32,000 tons. Because there is no any sewage treatment facility available in the town, the town water has been polluted severely. In order to upgrade the city tastes and improve the environment, Linghu town government decided to build a sewage treatment plant with a treatment capacity of 50,000 tons per day according to the overall program on Linghu town construction during 2000 ¨C 2020 and the pollution control plan in Taihu lake basin.
Project Progress: The project proposal has been received by the provincial development and reform commission and its feasibility study has been done. The project is planned to be built during 2005 ¨C 2006.
Plan of Implementation: The first phase of the project will built a plant with a treatment capacity of 30,000 tons daily, with a planned investment of RMB 110 million.
